We have processed Elastin-Like Peptides (ELP) into a thin film containing pro-regenerative drugs for release into damaged tissues. When these drugs are released directly from the ELP film into a hydrogel, release can be sustained to control the dosage.
An example of how Elastin-Like Peptides (ELP) can be processed into a composite implant for drug delivery. Left: a thin film of ELP containing pro-regenerative drugs for release upon implantation. Right: An ELP hydrogel to slow and control the rate of drug release.
